Scott Joplin born 1868 in Texas USA ,he started his career as a railway worker,he left and was taught music by a German Jewish immigrant.he moved to Missouri and form a band in 1893.scott played in non -white social clubs ,in 1899 the music maple leaf rag was Published.
one of his notable songs the entertainer was featured in the film 'the sting' it topped the bill boards chart .in 1976 he was awarded the Pulitzer prize for contribution to music.
